Jesus Esquibel has been a middle school math instructor with Wasco Union Elementary School District for the past thirteen years. While at his district, he has provided professional development and training for all emerging technologies that they have adopted. Now serving as a full-time lecturer at California State University, Bakersfield he is helping to start the first co-teaching residency program in Kern County. In this new role, he lectures in several credentialing courses, supervises teacher candidates, and designs the STEM curriculum for the annual camp BLAST. Throughout his tenure as an educator, Jesus Esquibel, has tirelessly advocated for the inclusion of technology in classrooms and worked to provide more student experiences with technology. Teaching students about “making” and coding are core topics of the various summer camps he has designed. For this keynote address, he will discuss some of the issues we face trying to integrate technology in education and issue a call to action for all local educators.

Bree Gage is a faculty member in the Teacher Education Department at CSU Bakersfield. She prepares preservice teachers in both the Multiple and Single Subject Credential Program and spent thirteen years in k-12 education. Bree’s qualifications include a multiple subject credential, a reading specialist credential, and a Master’s Degree in Literacy.
She will present ways to give students immediate academic and behavioral feedback through online apps, such as Socrative, Class Cards, etc...This workshop will be excellent for beginning or veteran teachers who have a hard time keeping data on formative assessment or just need some ideas on apps that will help give students feedback, while gathering and recording formative assessment data. |

Sheryl Brennan is the Academic Coach for Technology for the Lamont School District. This is her third year in the position. Prior to being hired as an academic coach, she taught in the classroom for 10 years: 6 years in 6th grade and 4 years in 4th grade. Sheryl has always had a passion for technology and is excited to have the implementation of Google for Education in her district. Google Classroom brilliantly streamlines the workflow of the Google Apps making the integration of technology more seamless.

Angelica Paredes has been a special education teacher for students with mild to moderate disabilities for the past three years. She works with students in the 7th and 8th grade. Angelica is a part-time lecturer at CSUB, teaching the Assistive Technology course for the special education credential program. Angelica's passion for special education began after growing-up with her sister who has a disability. Her goal is to help other students like her sister.

Stacey’s eighteen years in education include experience as an elementary teacher, technology coach, administrator, and adjunct college professor. She is the Coordinator of Education Technology for the Office of the Kern County Superintendent of Schools. She assists districts in planning, implementing and integrating technology.

Hilda Wright
Hilda is an Instructional Specialist for Bakersfield City School District. She previously taught middle school Math, ELD, and was an Academic Coach. She has a B.A. in Liberal Studies with a BCLAD emphasis as well as an M.A in Administrative Services. She served on California’s Academic Content Standards Commission and the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing and is currently the Vice President of the Kern County Mathematics Council. She is responsible for developing and providing ongoing professional development around Common Core instructional shifts and 21st century demands.
Rayshell Fambrough
Rayshell graduated Cal State Bakersfield with her Bachelors and Masters in Education. She was a Special Education Teacher and a School Site Technology Coordinator for five years. She went on to become an Academic Coach where she facilitated the implementation of Google Apps for Education and she led her school in the shift to Common Core and Smarter Balanced Testing. She now serves as the Educational Technology Specialist for Bakersfield City School District where she guides district use and application of technological resources that prepare students for the demands of the 21st century economy.
